Job summary

Ashland Public Schools is seeking a varsity head coach (fall cheer) for the Fall 2026 season at Ashland High School. The coach will lead practices, develop student-athletes and promote discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork in cheer.

Applicants should have high school coaching or playing experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and be available after school, on weekends and evenings. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred; reports to the Athletic Director.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching and/or playing experience at the high school level or above is preferred.
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Available to practice after school, weekends and evenings
• Establish team goals, team rules, communicate these to all commitment to program
• CPR/First Aid Certified Preferred

Responsibilities

• Head coach responsible for coaching, character development and providing direction to student-athletes to achieve skill and teamwork in cheer.
• Interact thoughtfully with student-athletes, coaches, staff, parents and community while following the mission of the school.
• Ensure safety awareness and maintain positive communication strategies and organization.
