Qualifications

• Completion of 60 college credit hours prior to coaching.
• Professional Teacher's Certificate OR NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Course completed prior to second year of coaching.
• Successful completion of a Sports First Aid/CPR/AED training course prior to second year of coaching and renewed every two years.
• Check including Sex-Offender Registry Clearance prior to coaching and Board of Education Approval.
• Concussion in Sports Course completed and current concussion information reviewed yearly.
• MSHSAA Sport-Specific Online Rules Review and Test completed each season.
• Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention training completed prior to second year and renewed every two years.
• Heat Illness Prevention/Recognition training completed prior to the second year and renewed every two years.

Responsibilities

• Assist the High School head coach in all aspects of the cheer program.
• Support planning and execution of practices and competitions.
• Ensure compliance with district and athletic association rules and safety protocols.
