Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking a Varsity Cheerleading Coach in Southbridge, Massachusetts, to supervise all aspects of the cheerleading program. This part-time position requires prior coaching experience in high school or college settings. Responsibilities include providing oversight for the athletes, promoting academic performance, and engaging with the community.

The coach will also manage equipment, schedule practices, and ensure a positive environment for all athletes.

• Prior coaching experience in college, high school, or a recognized program.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa is required.

Varsity Cheerleading Coach

Reports to: High School Athletic Director

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Accountable for the entire program, and will oversee all aspects of the program, including, but not limited to, the safety and inventory of athletic equipment.
• Communicate with the Athletic Director concerning any incidents which come up in regards to student athletes or parental concerns.
• Has had prior coaching experience in a college, high school, or in a recognized and successful program.
• Promote academics before athletics by monitoring academic performance and enforcing eligibility.
• Allow all student athletes the opportunity to compete in the sport while promoting sportsmanship.
• Build a positive relationship with the community to promote the sport.
• Demonstrate all skills, drills and fundamentals of the sport.
• Manage and take inventory of all equipment.
• Be present at all weekend activities.
• Supervise athletes before practices, during/after practices and during activities/events.
• Attend coaching meetings as assigned.
• Evaluate the progress of the student athletes.
• Assist with fundraising along with promoting community support and awareness.
• Set scrimmages, game schedules, and practice schedules for the program.
• Perform all other duties that are assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Varsity Coach
