Qualifications

• High school or competitive youth coaching experience required.
• Florida teaching certificate or DOE athletic coaching certificate required.
• FHSAA certification required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification required (AHA/Red Cross).
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
• Combination of education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct regular practice sessions.
• Develop and implement game strategies and tactics.
• Teach fundamental skills, techniques, and sports rules to student‑athletes.
• Supervise student‑athletes during practices, games, and school trips.
• Monitor academic progress and support balance of athletics and academics.
• Promote discipline, responsibility, and good sportsmanship.
• Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations.
• Manage team equipment and uniforms.
• Collaborate with athletic director on scheduling, budget, and facility use.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to student‑athletes on personal development and college opportunities.
• Enforce school policies and codes of conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
