Job summary

SIDNEY CENTRAL SCHOOL seeks a head coach to organize and supervise a total sports program and to apply strong coaching experience in major sports. The candidate must keep up with new theories and procedures and serve as a positive role model for student athletes.

The head coach reports to the athletic director and works with principals to lead a staff of coaches, fostering student growth and team success through discipline and character development.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (Major sports).
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and ongoing examination of new theories and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate a staff of high school and middle school coaches.
• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training for team success.
• Instruct and model behaviors that promote character development, self discipline, self confidence and pride.
