Job summary

Alpena Public Schools is accepting applications for a Baseball Head Coach (Varsity) starting the Spring 2027 season. This role reports to the District Athletic Director and requires strong leadership, coaching mastery, and effective communication with players, families, and staff.

The ideal candidate will schedule regular practices, ensure safety, maintain statistics, recruit student-athletes, and collaborate with feeder programs while upholding district policies and coaching certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and valid teaching certificate.
• Must hold or obtain first aid, CPR and AED certifications.
• Ability to supervise and implement policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Schedule regular, effective and structured practices throughout the season.
• Maintain safety conditions of facilities and supervision of students at all times.
• Maintain accurate statistics, records, and results of games and program history.
• Present consistent and positive communications with booster organizations and the community.
• Recruit student-athletes from within the district and coordinate with feeder programs.
