Job summary

Cooperstown Central School District is seeking a dedicated Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach to support the head coach in guiding the high school varsity program at Cooperstown Jr Sr High School. The successful candidate will mentor student-athletes, promote sportsmanship, and help foster a positive, competitive team culture.

Responsibilities include planning practices, drills, game-day strategies, equipment and schedule management, and clear communication with players, families, and school

Qualifications

Completion or willingness to complete NYSED coaching requirements
First Aid & CPR Certification
DASA Training
Concussion Management Training
SAVE Training
Fingerprint clearance through NYSED

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, drills, and game-day strategies
Support the skill development and personal growth of student-athletes
Help manage equipment, schedules, and team logistics
Promote teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among players
Supervise athletes during practices, games, travel, and related activities
Assist with communication between players, parents, and school administration
Ensure adherence to all NYSPHSAA and district athletic policies and regulations
Be present and engaged at all practices, games, and team events
