Job summary

Johnson & Wales University is seeking an assistant varsity coach to work with the head coach in developing an intercollegiate program. The role covers in-season and off-season programming, recruitment, and adherence to regulations.

You will supervise practices and contests, contribute to student-athlete development and academic progress, and support fundraising and staff development initiatives. Candidates must live or relocate within daily commuting distance of the Providence campus.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Moderate experience in athletic coaching or related roles.
Valid U.S. driver's license; willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED if needed.
Ability to live within daily commuting distance of Providence Campus.

Responsibilities

Oversee practices and contests with the head coach to provide a positive student-athlete experience.
Develop recruitment plans to identify and enroll student athletes for a competitive program.
Establish team rules and protocols and ensure implementation.
Foster personal development and academic progress of student athletes.
Engage in recruitment trips and supervise off-campus competitions.
Provide recommendations on team lineups and game strategy; support fundraising and staff development.
