Job summary

Westwood High School is seeking a Varsity Alpine Ski Head Coach for the 2026-27 school year. Candidates with alpine skiing coaching experience and knowledge of the MIAA Handbook are preferred, and CPR/AED plus concussion certifications are required.

Applicants should demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with school administrators, faculty, parents, and student-athletes, supervise athletes at events, and maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching alpine ski at high school or college level is preferred.
• Familiarity with MIAA Handbook and rules required or desired.
• Ability to communicate effectively with administrators, faculty, parents, and athletes.
• Must be flexible for home games and away bus schedules.

Responsibilities

• Coach varsity alpine ski team at Westwood High School.
• Coordinate with athletic staff on injuries and athlete status.
• Promote a positive learning environment and supervise student-athletes at events.
• Assist in scheduling and transportation planning for away games.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
Previous Alpine Ski coaching experience is desirable.
Knowledge of the MIAA Handbook and rules.
Previous experience in either high school, college or both is desirable.
Must be Concussion Certified
Must be CPR/AED Certified
Must have or obtain the MIAA Coaches Education Certification
Must communicate effectively with school admin, faculty, parents, and student-athletes
Should supervise student-athletes at all team events
Should promote a positive learning environment for all team members
Must have a flexible schedule for home games and buses for away games
