Job summary

Fanatics Collectibles is seeking a Prepress Variable Data Operator to prepare, process, and manage data for personalized print-ready PDFs. The role requires strong InDesign/Acrobat/Illustrator/Photoshop skills, VDP experience, and attention to detail to ensure error-free designs for production.

You will collaborate with the production team, review PDFs for accuracy, manage file versions, and stay current with software updates in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have expertise in Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Experience with variable data printing (VDP) and prepress workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to solve complex prepress issues under deadline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to coordinate with production teams.
• Familiarity with databases (Excel, SQL) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Utilize variable data software to write logic to incorporate variable imagery and text into InDesign
• Identify and resolve issues related to variable data integration, file formatting, or output errors
• Collaborate closely with the production team to align on project priorities and timelines
• Ensure design accuracy by PDF review and quality checks against personalized PDFs
• Process incoming print jobs using the workflow management tool for proper file prep, trapping, and imposition
• Maintain documentation of project specs and file versions
• Adapt to industry trends and software updates in variable data-driven print production
