The ideal VAPA Facilitator combines strong artistic knowledge with the ability to engage students in relevant, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
At Inglewood Unified School District, employees have the opportunity to contribute directly to the success and well-being of students while serving a vibrant and diverse community. The District is committed to educational environments grounded in high expectations, belonging, meaningful relationships, creativity, collaboration, and respect for the talents and experiences each person brings to the community.
For VAPA Facilitators, IUSD offers an especially meaningful opportunity: the chance to introduce students to artistic experiences that can uncover talents, strengthen confidence, create connection, and change how young people see themselves and their possibilities. Because assignments may occur across different schools, grade levels, disciplines, and programs, facilitators may also have opportunities to contribute their unique artistic expertise in flexible and innovative ways.
Candidates will identify the VAPA disciplines in which they possess sufficient knowledge and experience to independently facilitate student learning:
The VAPA Facilitator expands students’ access to high-quality arts experiences and supports the District’s commitment to developing the whole child. The position also supports interdisciplinary learning by connecting arts experiences to academic content, authentic problems, student interests, culture, community, and real-world application. VAPA Facilitators serve as positive adult models and contribute to school environments in which students feel valued, challenged, supported, and inspired to participate.
Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Plan and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate visual and/or performing arts learning experiences; demonstrate proficiency in one or more VAPA disciplines; translate artistic knowledge and skills into accessible learning experiences for students; actively engage students in creating, performing, responding, and connecting through the arts; incorporate creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and project-based learning into instruction; differentiate activities to meet varying student strengths, needs, interests, and experience levels; create an inclusive environment in which students feel comfortable participating and taking creative risks; establish positive relationships with students and staff; communicate effectively and professionally; work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel; adapt to different school environments, grade levels, schedules, and program needs; manage materials, equipment, and instructional spaces appropriately; exercise sound judgment; work independently within established District expectations; and maintain reliable attendance and punctuality for assigned programs.
