Job summary

Southern Cleaning Service, Inc. seeks a dependable Yard Marshaller to support delivery van operations at our fulfillment center in Monroe, OH. The role involves moving and positioning vans, preparing them for dispatch, inspecting returns, and maintaining precise records.

Responsibilities include coordinating with dispatch, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensuring safe operation and documentation of van movements in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate and reverse delivery vans.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow instructions, complete records accurately, and communicate professionally by radio.
• Comfortable using handheld devices and basic tracking applications.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, walk throughout the yard, and repeatedly enter and exit vehicles.
• Previous experience in yard operations, delivery, transportation, or warehouse operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely move delivery vans between parking spaces, loading docks, inspection areas, and the van wash.
• Coordinate with dispatch and respond promptly to vehicle movement requests.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and immediately report damage, equipment defects, or safety concerns.
• Position vans at docks, secure rear doors, place wheel chocks, and connect vehicles to power according to site procedures.
• Monitor and record van temperatures at 45-minute intervals.
• Inspect returning vans, verify return inventory and paperwork, and park vehicles in assigned locations.
• Update vehicle locations using the designated handheld device or tracking system.
• Operate vans through the wash according to posted instructions and keep vehicles free of loose articles and debris.
• Maintain accurate vehicle movement logs, inspection forms, and temperature records.
• Communicate with the incoming shift to ensure a smooth handoff.
• Follow yard speed limits, dock signals, safe driving practices, and required protective equipment procedures.
