Job summary

Universal Transportation Systems is hiring monitors to assist the driver in providing safe and reliable transportation. The role involves verifying passenger names, securing seats, and performing vehicle checks to ensure safety.

The position is part-time with a $13.00 per hour rate and a $250 sign-on bonus. Candidates must pass a drug/alcohol test and complete training, and will work Monday through Friday on site in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist clients during loading/unloading and while vehicle is in operation.
• Secure passengers for transportation with seatbelts or tie-down straps.
• Review driver’s manifest at pickups/drop-offs to confirm client names and counts.
• Obtain and verify IDs when transporting minors to a drop-off location.
• Clean and inspect vehicle interiors before/after each shift.
• Maintain relationships with monitors and drivers to stay informed on client needs.
• Follow procedures for accidents and emergencies and enforce safety rules.
• Complete incident reports as needed and submit to management.

UTS is hiring monitors to assist the driver in providing safe and reliable transportation.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Monitors and assists clients during the loading and unloading process and while the vehicle is in operation.
• Secures passengers for transportation by buckling seatbelts or fastening wheelchairs with tie-down straps.
• Reviews the driver’s manifest at each pick-up and drop-off location to ensure the names of each client are listed before transport takes place and confirms with the driver that all clients have been accounted for.
• Obtains and verifies identification from a pre-authorized adult when transporting a client of minor age to a drop-off location.
• Cleans and inspects the inside of vehicles before and after each scheduled shift.
• Maintains relationships with other monitors and drivers to stay informed on the behavior or needs of the client.
• Follows procedures for response to accidents and emergency situations.
• Enforces and abides by safety rules and regulations.
• Completes incident reports as needed and submits forms to management.

Qualifications

• Must meet physical requirements as needed to assist with the loading and unloading of students and students with special needs.
• Must pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Ability to interact clearly and effectively with supervisors, clients, and staff in both written and oral communication.
• Must professionally present oneself, showing respect towards others, consistently places the needs of clients first, and display honesty and integrity both inside and outside the workplace.
• Ability to handle difficult situations. Demonstrates sensitivity and care to the needs of all clients.
• Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training and attend in-service meetings in order to remain qualified.
