Job description

J.P. Mascaro & Sons is a locally owned and operated private familycompany who has been experiencing record growth and success. In 1964, it started with one truck. We have grown into one of the largest most successful fully integrated solid waste companies serving the mid-Atlantic area.

The Passenger Van Driver operates a van in accordance with DOT Regulations, company policy, and in accordance with established standards for excellent customer service.

VEHICLES UTILIZED:

COMPENSATION:

  • $12.00/hr

HOURS:

  • Monday - Friday: 4:45am - 7:30am
  • 12:45pm - 3:30pm
  • Saturday: Hours fluctuate dependent upon which shift is scheduled

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Drive a passenger van for transporting workers to and from work, for local errands, deliveries and pickups during the hours of 4:45am - 7:30am and12:45pm - 3:30pm (split shifts) Monday - Friday.
  • Operates the vehicles in accordance with all local, state and federal DOT regulations, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Maintains any related records required, i.e. driver’s log, route sheets, work orders, special request work, etc.
  • Cleans vehicles daily to ensure the vehicle meets company expectations to include inside the cab, driver’s area, and passenger areas.
  • Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined in the pre and post trip vehicle condition report. Reports any maintenance issues on the vehicle condition report and reports it immediately to the supervisor or operations manager.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A valid PA Driver’s License, and a clean driving history.
  • Must meet all required DOT physical and medical requirements and pass a substance abuse screening. As a safety sensitive employee, may be subject to random substance abuse screening under DOT or company policy.
  • Ability to effectively deal with customers and co-workers.
  • Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle for passenger safety and to prevent damage to vehicle, equipment, or surrounding items.
  • Ability to sit for long periods. Able to bend, stoop, and climb into and out of the vehicle and body unassisted.
