Location: The Salvation Army – Tupelo, MS

Position Title: Van Driver

Pay Rate: $9.00

About this opportunity:

Drives a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities; runs errands as assigned or needed.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Knowledge of acceptable driving techniques and practices.
  2. Knowledge of safety precautions associated with transporting passengers.
  3. Ability to drive a passenger vehicle ensuring the safety of passengers and protection of the vehicle.
  4. Ability to read and follow maps.
  5. Ability to gauge time needed to arrive at destination.

What we are looking for in you:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. and two years experience operating an automotive vehicle, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and on extended trips. Ability to spend the night away from home due to extended trips. Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic.
