Job Description

PAY: $20.00 - $28.00

HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

An individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries.
  • Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles.
  • Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location, including going up and down stairs with product as necessary.
  • Accurately record delivery information, operate a hand scanner, and complete all required documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation and disposition for any return product.
  • Communicate delivery or customer issues to the appropriate authority (e.g., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor).
  • Deliver product to each designated stop following the provided sequence.
  • Unload and stage product in the designated customer space.
  • Check invoice for completeness, process paperwork, and handle damaged merchandise if any.
  • Collect payments if necessary.
  • Monitor refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle for safety, following all safe food handling procedures.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash, and refueling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with proper endorsements if required.
  • No more than two convictions in the past two years for traffic violations; no DUI in the past three years; no license suspensions in the past three years.
  • Must pass DOT physical.
  • At least one year of multi-stop delivery experience or six months of local delivery/foodservice industry experience.

Hand cart delivery experience is preferred. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English related to the job and safety regulations. Basic math skills are required. Must pass pre-employment testing, including background checks. Knowledge of the area and map reading skills are advantageous. Use safe lifting techniques and have excellent customer service skills. Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime is required.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation depends on experience, education, skills, location, and other factors. The expected base rate is between $20 - $28 per hour, with overtime compensation. Benefits may include health insurance, pre-tax accounts, retirement plans, paid time off, disability coverage, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
