Job summary

Hartgrove Behavioral Health System in Chicago, IL, is seeking a hospital transporter to coordinate and operate patient transport services for children, adolescents and adults across inpatient, partial and outpatient settings.

Job Summary

Coordinates and schedules authorized use of Hospital vehicles. Operates Hospital vehicles. Schedules routine preventative maintenance and necessary repairs of Hospital vehicles; verifies accuracy of maintenance/repairs prior to submission of payment invoices. May be required to make simple repairs and/or perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on Hospital vehicles. Completes and maintains tasks on Hospital vehicles. Completes and maintains all records as required by Hospital/Department policies and procedures. Assures the maintenance of a safe and sanitary environment. Provides escort and transportation services to adult, children and adolescent patients.

Work Schedule

PRN/ Flex Day shift, Split Shift Hours; 5:00am - 9:00am AND 1:30pm - 5:30pm, Weekdays

Qualifications

Education

Experience

Prior experience with patient transport required

Licensure/Certification

Valid driver’s license with verification of no more than one (1) accident on record for the preceding five (5) years, no more than two (2) moving violations for the preceding six (6) years, no reckless driving tickets and no DWI/DUI violations

Knowledge

Ability to read, write, and speak the English language; ability to follow written and oral directions; ability to read and interpret maps and maintenance manuals.
