Job summary

Humboldt Park Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a full-time Driver - Motor Transportation to support hospital operations by transporting patients, staff and materials safely and on time.

Under supervision of Public Safety leadership, you will operate department vehicles, patrol parking areas, and respond to patient needs while complying with Illinois traffic rules and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current IL Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the department vehicles in a dependable, efficient, safe and reliable manner.
• Transports patients, employees, mail, specimens and other hospital activities which require driving.
• Patrols hospital parking lot when not transporting.
• Maintains an acceptable attendance record per hospital policy.
• Recognizes and responds to the needs and behaviors of patients in a variety of age groups, such as neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. (Example: Understand normal patterns of behavior)
• Assist patients to and from the Motor Transportation vehicle.
• Ability to know the city streets regarding directions and landmarks.

Position Summary:
