Responsabilités

• Operates assigned van in a safe and courteous manner.
• Assists passengers, incl. those with disabilities, on/off the van and uses ramps and restraints as needed.
• Ensures passengers are secured with proper seat belts.
• Delivers meals in a timely and courteous manner and informs supervisor if there is no answer.
• Delivers meals between campuses as needed.
• Reads maps and directions to plan efficient routes for patients.
• Performs minor maintenance and coordinates major maintenance when required.
• Maintains a professional image and conduct that reflects the organization.

Full job description

Do you have a soft spot for seniors? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of seniors? Are you tired of the same old routine? The JAA is looking for a van driver to join our team. The van driver is responsible for a variety of duties across several departments of the organization including delivering meals to homebound seniors and driving community patients to physical therapy appointments. We offer great benefits including the opportunity to accrue up to five weeks of paid time off per year for full-time employees and up to three weeks per year for part-time employees.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Operates assigned van in a safe and courteous manner.
• Assists with passengers, including passengers with physical disabilities, on and off the van, operate ramps, lifts, and securement devices as needed and according to operator’s instructions.
• Assures passengers are safely secured in the van utilizing the appropriate safety belt system.
• Delivers meals in a timely and courteous manner. Communicates to supervisor if there is no answer when the meal is dropped off.
• Delivers meals between campuses.
• Reads and interprets maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route for the patients.
• Performs minor maintenance (e.g., checking oil, tires) as assigned or requested
• Coordinates the schedule for major or periodic maintenance with appropriate personnel as assigned or requested.
• Maintains a professional standard of conduct, projecting a positive image of the Organization at all times.

Required Education/Training

• High School diploma/GED
• Valid PA Driver’s License with a clean driving record

Physical Requirements

• Lifting: Regularly lifts and moves patients, equipment, meals. Frequently lifts up to 40 pounds. Occasionally lifts and moves patients unassisted up to 50 pounds.
• Carrying: Carries meals, and other items, weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Pushing/Pulling: Pushing and pulling is required when transporting patients
• Climbing: Ability to use stairs, curbs, and walkways
