Job summary

CRATER DISTRICT AREA AGENCY ON AGING is seeking a Van Driver to safely transport seniors to medical appointments, recreational sites, and other approved destinations. The role includes delivering meals to homebound seniors and providing friendly, courteous customer service.

Responsibilities include assisting passengers, maintaining a clean vehicle, following routes and schedules, communicating respectfully, and documenting records.

Qualifications

• A good driving record is required.
• Minimum of two years of driving experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience driving a 13-passenger van.
• Must be friendly, courteous, patient, dependable, and professional.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively with seniors and individuals with varying needs.
• Must pass background checks and drug screening.
• Must meet requirements for operating a CDAAA vehicle.

Van Drivers are responsible for safely and reliably transporting seniors to medical appointments, recreational sites, and other approved destinations. The Van Driver will also deliver meals to homebound seniors while providing friendly, courteous, and exceptional customer service.

A valid driver’s license and current driving record must be provided and approved prior to employment being considered. A satisfactory driving record is required.

Routes may include Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Emporia, Prince George, Dinwiddie, Sussex, Surry, and Greensville County.
