Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of consumers during transportation to and from the facility.
• Maintain daily sign-in sheets with driver name, date, and starting mileage.
• Keep vehicles clean and fueled for each route.
• Adhere to all transportation policies and procedures for Adult Clinical Services.
• Do not use handheld devices while driving; use hands-free equipment only.

AEDD is now accepting applications for a Van Driver working with developmentally disabled adults. Must have a valid license. Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background checks.

Job Summary:

The Driver ensures the safety of the consumer to and from the facility and performs any combination of the following tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following; other duties may be assigned.

• You are responsible for the safety of the consumers during transportation to and from the facility.
• Daily sign-in sheets are required for each route. They must have the driver's name, date and beginning mileage
• Vehicles must be gassed up prior to or after delivery of consumers.
• Drivers will drive the speed limit and stop at all railroad crossings, drivers will focus on the road at all times. The radio is not allowed nor is talking on a cell phone while driving
• Vehicles are to be kept clean at all times. There can be no trash left on the vans.
• Will follow transportation policies and procedures specific to Adult Clinical Services.
• Drivers may not text or use a hand-held mobile device; they may not reach for or hold a mobile device to conduct voice communication. Drivers may only operate a hands-free mobile device.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this position the employee travels by automobile and is exposed to changing weather conditions.
