Job summary

Erie’s Public Schools is seeking a Student Van Driver to transport students to district locations. This 12-month position reports to the Director of Non-Instructional Support Services and offers excellent benefits.

The role requires a PA CDL-S endorsement or progression toward it, a strong driving record, physical capability, and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds. Responsibilities include safely transporting EPS students, performing district labor duties when not driving, and keeping vehicles

Qualifications

• Five (5) years driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass physical examination.
• Ability to drive and maintain passenger van.
• Must be bondable.
• Must be able to do repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling.
• Knowledge, skills and experience related to working with young children.

Drive a passenger van over designated routes in accordance with established time schedules to transport students to district locations.

Qualifications

• Have and maintain a current PA valid driver's license (CDL - S endorsement P/Air Brakes) and be insurable by the District's Insurance Company, preferred. In absence of CDL, selected candidate must agree to pursue CDL license and endorsements with PennDOT.
• Five (5) years driving experience with a clean driving record
• Must be able to pass physical examination
• Ability to drive and maintain passenger van
• Ability to lift eighty (80) pounds
• Must be bondable
• Must be able to do repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling
• Must be able to do repetitive stooping, kneeling and crouching
• Must be able to do repetitive reaching and handling of heavy materials and/or equipment
• Possess current satisfactory performance evaluations.
• Professional tact, diplomacy and flexibility with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and the community
• Knowledge, skills and experience related to working with young children
