Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation seeks a Van Driver to provide transportation support for patients, families, staff, and visitors. You will help ensure safe, timely patient care in a community-focused hospital environment and serve as a friendly face throughout the site.

The role emphasizes safe vehicle operation, prompt maintenance reporting, and readiness to handle patient emergencies with CPR/First Aid training. A valid driver’s license and prior transportation experience are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license for the heaviest class vehicle.
• CPR and First Aid Training.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous transportation experience required.
• Must be 25 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Operates transportation vehicles in a safe manner and complies with all traffic laws.
• Maintains appearance of vehicle and promptly reports vehicle maintenance needs.
• Performs daily and weekly vehicle inspections.
• Lifts and transfers patients appropriately; applies all safety equipment.
• Is competent in CPR and/or handles any patient emergency.
