Job summary

Trinity Health PACE St Mary is seeking a Transportation Attendant to help transport PACE/LIFE participants to and from the PACE Center and medical appointments. You will support drivers, promote safety, and communicate participant status to the center.

This full-time day-shift role requires a high school diploma, experience with elderly or frail populations, CPR training, and a valid driver's license. A collaborative, values-driven environment offers meaningful work and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; prior transportation or human services experience preferred.
• CPR training or willingness to obtain CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing preferred.
• Experience working with elderly or frail populations or within PACE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist drivers in transporting participants, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Accompany participants to medical appointments, assist with ambulation and comfort.
• Maintain communication with center and Transportation Supervisor regarding participant status.
• Perform vehicle cleaning and sanitization; assist in transporting supplies and mail.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address participant needs and promptly report concerns.

The primary purpose of your job position is to assist with transporting PACE/LIFE participants to and from the
PACE/LIFE Center and to other appointments. To promote safety and comfort of participants while waiting for
transport or appointments. To communicate with drivers and the center, providing relevant information regarding
status of appointments, participants and any problems or issues.

Position Purpose: The Transportation Attendant supports the safe and comfortable transport of PACE/LIFE participants to and from appointments, promoting their safety and well-being while ensuring timely and accurate communication with the team.

What You Will Do:

• Assist drivers in transporting participants, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Accompany participants to medical appointments, providing support with ambulation, toileting, and ensuring their comfort.
• Maintain constant communication with the center and Transportation Supervisor regarding participant status.
• Perform daily vehicle cleaning and sanitization, assisting in the transport of supplies and mail.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address participant needs and report concerns promptly.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (transportation and human services experience preferred).
• At least one year of experience working with elderly or frail populations, or completion of training within the PACE organization.
• CPR training or willingness to complete training.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing preferred.
• Must meet the Employee Medical Statement requirements (State of North Carolina).
