Job summary

Parker Hannifin in New Britain, CT is seeking an entry-level valve assembler to perform a range of assembly and test activities in a dedicated work cell. You will work to meet production goals while following quality standards and procedures.

Responsibilities include assembling, inspecting, testing, packaging and documenting work with attention to detail. The role emphasizes safety, lean practices, and continuous improvement in a team setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0 - 3 months experience in manufacturing environment, assembly preferred
• Able to read, understand and follow written/verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Assemble valves with instruction and supervision in a work cell within the business unit.
• Meet productivity targets for assigned cells.
• Follow guidelines to assure proper set up for assembly and the actual assembly of product.
• Inspect and test each product produced to assure it meets quality standards.
• Pack product for shipping.
• Apply standard operating procedures to complete work assignments thoroughly and accurately; identify and correct errors and pay attention to details.
• Work with the cell team to meet or exceed production standards; complete work in a timely manner; plan and prioritize work.
• Follow safety and 5S guidelines; maintain a clean and organized work area and use good safety judgment.
• Understand ISO procedures and know where appropriate documentation is kept.
• Share input in team improvement board and High Performance Team meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
