Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2-5 years of industrial valve repair experience, or equivalent education/experience
• Experience repairing valves and actuators—pneumatic, hydraulic or electric
• Mechanically inclined with ability to use power tools, hand tools and cutting torches
• Able to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights
• Able to read and comprehend basic drawings and scope of work
• Able to read a tape measure accurately
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with whole numbers, fractions and decimals
• Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, measure, assemble and test valves including safety, XS flow, heater coils or bottom outlet valves
• Repair and test valves such as ball, gate, butterfly and safety relief valves
• Inspect valve parts for defects; replace defective parts and reassemble per customer specs
• Test valves and gauges for leaks and correct temperature/pressure settings
• Follow schematics and procedures per Quality Control and ASME standards
• Complete maintenance, calibration and documentation including test results and material usage
• Travel to job sites as required and adhere to site safety and performance rules
• Potentially train others on standards and processes of the role
