Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of control valve and safety valve repair experience desired; hydraulics/pneumatics helpful.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willing to cross-train in other department areas as needed.
• Experience reading blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/kneel/walk for long periods.
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests; clean background.
• Knowledge of rigging, lifting and moving heavy/awkward products.

Responsibilities

• Repair relief valves, control valves, on/off valves and pneumatic actuators.
• Troubleshoot, inspect, and test valves at job sites.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, machine, lap, paint, assemble and test valves and actuators.
• Test with certified equipment and document QA/QC/National Board VR work.
• Complete field service worksheets and submit to coordinator after work.
• Communicate effectively with plant personnel regarding valve and instrumentation requirements.
• Obtain site-specific and safety training for valve repair services.
• Maintain company vehicle and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• Assist other team members as required.

Job Description

• Repair relief valves, control valves, on/off valves and pneumatic actuators in SVI facility or
• Mechanically and electrically troubleshoot, inspect, and test valves at specified job worksites.
• Perform pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in process inspection, machining, lapping, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection on various types of valves and actuation.
• Perform testing on certified test equipment, and complete all documentation by working under a QA / QC / National Board VR program.
• Complete field service worksheets and submit to job coordinator upon completion of work.
• Understanding of pneumatic and digital controls.
• Ability and knowledge to reference appropriate valve manuals for repair requirements.
• Exhibit an ability to e3ectively communicate with plant personnel regarding valve and instrumentation equipment and customer requirements.
• Obtain all site specific and safety related training to perform valve repair services.
• Maintain driver eligibility and regular preventative maintenance on company owned vehicle.
• Assist others as required.

Requirements

High School diploma/GED required, 2 year Associate Degree in a mechanical preferred.

• 1-3+ years of previous control valve and safety valve repair experience desired; experience with hydraulics/pneumatics helpful but not required. Supervisor must have 5years+ of relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Willing to help in other areas of the department as necessary.
• Experience in reading blueprints and other technical diagrams.
• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for long periods.
• Must have a clean background and be able to pass both a pre-employment & random drug test(s).
• Knowledge of rigging, lifting and moving heavy and awkward products.
• Able to work in abnormal (heat/cold/clean room) operating conditions.
