Job summary

Equipment & Controls, Inc. is seeking technicians in Lawrence, PA to assemble valve actuation packages, repair safety relief valves, and service isolation and control valves in the field. Candidates should be able to troubleshoot electrical instrumentation and lift up to 50 pounds.

Ideal applicants have a 2-year technical degree or 5 years industrial experience, with willingness to travel and work overtime as needed. We value teamwork and customer interaction in gas and petrochemical industries.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of a 2-year vocational or technical college degree OR a minimum of 5 years of experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment (automotive service experience preferred).
• Proficient with mechanical tools and equipment
• Basic understanding of the operating principles, installation and maintenance of AC and DC electrical circuits
• Basic understanding of the operating principles, installation and maintenance of pneumatic circuits
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
• Ability to work overtime and travel as required
• Personable and able to interact professionally with gas industry customers

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assemble valve actuation packages
• Repair and assemble safety relief valves
• Disassemble, evaluate, rebuild and test Isolation and Control valves
• Troubleshoot electrical instrumentation components
• Maintain a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and perform work outdoors

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate:

• MUST have a minimum of a 2-year vocational or technical college degree OR a minimum of 5 years of experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment (automotive service experience preferred). Military experience in this or a related field will also be considered
• Proficient with mechanical tools and equipment
• Basic understanding of the operating principles, installation and maintenance of AC and DC electrical circuits
• Basic understanding of the operating principles, installation and maintenance of pneumatic circuits
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
• Ability to work any overtime required to complete an assignment (including weekend work when necessary)
• Ability to travel out of town and work in the field when required
• Personable and willing to interact professionally with gas industry customers
• Willing to work individually or as a team member
