Job summary

Equipment & Controls, Inc. is seeking a skilled technician in Lima, OH to assemble valve actuation packages, repair relief valves, and test isolation and control valves.

The ideal candidate will have a technical degree or substantial industrial experience and be comfortable working outdoors. Responsibilities include wiring and testing electrical and pneumatic systems, traveling to field locations, and interacting professionally with gas industry customers.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a 2-year vocational or technical college degree OR 5 years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Proficient with mechanical tools and equipment.
• Basic understanding of AC/DC electrical circuits.
• Basic understanding of pneumatic circuits.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Willing to travel and work overtime including weekends when required.
• Ability to interact professionally with gas industry customers.
• Team player and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble valve actuation packages.
• Repair and assemble safety relief valves.
• Disassemble, evaluate, rebuild and test isolation and control valves.
• Troubleshoot electrical instrumentation components.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assemble valve actuation packages
• Repair and assemble safety relief valves
• Disassemble, evaluate, rebuild and test Isolation and Control valves
• Troubleshoot electrical instrumentation components
• Maintain a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and perform work outdoors

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate:

• MUST have a minimum of a 2-year vocational or technical college degree OR a minimum of 5 years of experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment (automotive service experience preferred). Military experience in this or a related field will also be considered
• Proficient with mechanical tools and equipment
• Basic understanding of the operating principles, installation and maintenance of AC and DC electrical circuits
• Basic understanding of the operating principles, installation and maintenance of pneumatic circuits
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
• Ability to work any overtime required to complete an assignment (including weekend work when necessary)
• Ability to travel out of town and work in the field when required
• Personable and willing to interact professionally with gas industry customers
• Willing to work individually or as a team member
