Job summary

Industrial Valve Sales & Service is seeking a Valve Technician in Eight Mile, AL to perform maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on safety and pilot valves. The role requires following safety and quality procedures, reading measuring devices, and eventual field work. You will work with the team to maintain equipment and support projects.

Ideal candidates have basic mechanical aptitude, valve experience, and the ability to travel when required. OSHA training and TWIC are preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic OSHA safety training preferred.
• Industrial valve experience preferred.
• Proficiency with valve safety lines.
• Ability to read measuring/scaling devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on safety and pilot valves.
• Follow safety and quality procedures.
• Operate equipment (overhead hoist, blaster, parts washer, torch, etc.).
• Clean, blast, and paint valve components.
• Collaborate with colleagues and mentor other technicians.
• May be required to help in field assignments.
• Must be able to climb and work at various elevations; travel as needed.

Job Overview

The Valve Technician performs maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on safety and pilot valves.

• Follows safety and quality procedures
• Must be able to read measuring/scaling devices
• Safety Valve Tech responsibilities
• Cleaning, blasting, and painting valve components
• Collaborate with colleagues and mentor other technicians
• Operate equipment (overhead hoist, blaster, parts washer, torch, etc.)
• Enjoy doing mechanical work
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Maintain equipment in area, as required
• May be required to help in field assignments
• Required to climb and work at various elevations depending on job scope
• Must be able to operate motor vehicle
• Must have a safety awareness in the industrial workplace
• Must be able to document and enter job data

Requirements

• Basic OSHA Safety Training (preferred).
• Current or up-to-date TWIC (preferred).
• Industrial Valve Experience
• Proficiency of manufacturer safety valve lines.
• Basic mechanical aptitude including, but not limited to, basic hand and power tool knowledge.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Demonstrate effective time management skills.
• Must be able to travel and have a clean driving record.
• Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening.
• Travel when needed at anytime.
• Working in hot and cold environments.
• Bending, stooping, walking.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
