Job summary

The Industrial Service Group in Alabama seeks a Valve Technician to perform maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on safety and pilot valves in an industrial setting. You will follow safety and quality procedures and read measuring devices to verify tolerances.

The role requires hands-on mechanical work, travel to field sites, lifting up to 50 pounds, and documenting job data. OSHA/TWIC preferred; valve experience expected.

Qualifications

• Basic OSHA Safety Training preferred.
• Current or up-to-date TWIC preferred.
• Industrial valve experience required.
• Proficiency with manufacturer safety valve lines.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with hand and power tools.
• Organized and detail-oriented; strong time management.
• Ability to travel and maintain a clean driving record.
• Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening.
• Travel when needed; work in hot/cold environments.
• Bending, stooping, walking; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on safety and pilot valves.

• Ventilate safety valve tech responsibilities and repair tasks.
• Clean, blast, and paint valve components as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues and mentor other technicians.
• Operate equipment (overhead hoist, blaster, parts washer, torch).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and document data.
• May assist in field assignments and travel to sites.
• Must be able to climb at various elevations and drive to sites.

Job Overview

The Valve Technician performs maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on safety and pilot valves.

• Follows safety and quality procedures
• Must be able to read measuring/scaling devices
• Safety Valve Tech responsibilities
• Cleaning, blasting, and painting valve components
• Collaborate with colleagues and mentor other technicians
• Operate equipment (overhead hoist, blaster, parts washer, torch, etc.)
• Enjoy doing mechanical work
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Maintain equipment in area, as required
• May be required to help in field assignments
• Required to climb and work at various elevations depending on job scope
• Must be able to operate motor vehicle
• Must have a safety awareness in the industrial workplace
• Must be able to document and enter job data

Requirements

• Basic OSHA Safety Training (preferred).
• Current or up-to-date TWIC (preferred).
• Industrial Valve Experience
• Proficiency of manufacturer safety valve lines.
• Basic mechanical aptitude including, but not limited to, basic hand and power tool knowledge.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
