Job summary

Parker Aerospace in Kent, WA, is hiring a Value Stream Planner to collaborate with manufacturing teams to plan and execute programs and build plans. The role supports order placement and follow-up for purchased products to ensure on-time delivery.

You will analyze orders, coordinate with internal/external suppliers, and reinforce lean planning practices across the value stream while managing multiple projects and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other technical field required.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably high-volume/low-mix.
  • Proficiency with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
  • Understanding of Lean in Job Shop or mid-volume operations (Value Stream).
  • Proven ability to make decisions based on facts and information.
  • Proficient with MS Office with extensive Excel experience.
  • Minimal project management experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily production control tasks (ship reports, input material releases).
  • Analyze sales orders within planning lead time to ensure material availability.
  • Support value stream by planning manufacturing build plans.
  • Troubleshoot and handle exceptions to product flow.
  • Analyze trends and issues in production planning; initiate countermeasures.
  • Organize/manage multiple conflicting projects.
  • Coordinate supplier replenishment methods.
  • Manage discrepant and stranded inventory to minimize WIP.
  • Monitor and update MRB work orders until flow is restored.
  • Participate in Lean process improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisor and Value Stream Support for root-cause resolution of downtime.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping of transactions and communications.
  • Communicate effectively in team settings; work with cross-functional teams.
  • Work independently with initiative.

Value Stream Planner

The Value Stream Planner is an experienced member of a Value Stream Manufacturing team. This position is responsible for collaboratively working with others to plan and execute manufacturing programs and build plans. Assisting with order placement and follow up related to purchased products, the Value Stream Planner will reinforce work order scheduling policy ensuring on time conforming product delivery.

Functions and Responsibilities
  • Execution of daily production control tasks as assigned (including ship reports, and input material releases).
  • Analyze sales orders within the planning lead time ensuring material is available to fulfill scheduled orders.
  • Support the value stream as required by planning manufacturing build plans.
  • Help with troubleshooting and dealing with exceptions to product flow.
  • Performs analysis that highlights trends, drivers, and issues with production planning. Initiates counter measures to resolve issues, develop capability, and ensures resolution.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple conflicting projects.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and recommend solutions.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external supplier replenishment methods.
  • Manage discrepant and stranded inventory to minimize work in process.
  • Responsible for monitoring, reporting and updating MRB work center manufacturing work orders until returned to the standard flow of work in the shop.
  • Actively participate in Lean process improvement and projects.
  • Active collaboration with Production Supervisor and Value Stream Support team in root-cause resolution of production down time.
  • Successful execution of basic program plans as assigned. Must possess follow-up accuracy with record keeping of transactions and communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to present information effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to successfully interact with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently with demonstrated self-initiative.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business or other technical field.
  • Manufacturing experience desired, preferably in a high-volume, low-mix environment
  • Use of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools
  • Understanding of how to apply Lean in a Job Shop (such as QRM) or in mid-volume repetitive operations (such as Value Stream).
  • Proven ability to demonstrate good judgement and make effective decisions based on facts and information at hand.
  • Proficient with MS Office Products with extensive experience in Excel.
  • Minimal Project Management Experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in operational or manufacturing environments including familiarity with the Theory of Constraints is a plus.

  • Pay Range: $70890 to $117300 annually
