This role requires critical thinking beyond the immediate daily schedule, including the ability to anticipate production variation, identify planning bottlenecks through regular Gemba walks, and communicate challenges, risks, and improvement opportunities to management. The Planner will work cross-functionally with Operations, Materials, Procurement, Customer Service, Quality, and other support teams, while maintaining professional communication with customers regarding order status when needed. This position requires strong analytical capability, advanced Excel skills, the ability to interpret MRP screens, and effective use of Parker planning and procurement tools such as eCapacity and eProcurement. The role will report to either the Materials Manager or the Master Scheduler.

Responsibilities
Scope/Supervision and Interaction

The Planner will report to either the Materials Manager or the Master Scheduler and will interact regularly with Operations, Materials, Procurement, Customer Service, Quality, Engineering, and other support functions to coordinate production priorities and resolve planning constraints. Position Responsibilities
  • Review daily backlog reports to evaluate job starts, production priorities, and alignment to customer requirements.
  • Release and maintain work orders to the shop floor on a daily basis to support production schedules and operational execution.
  • Monitor material availability, capacity constraints, and production readiness to ensure planned work can be executed effectively.

  • Participate in Kaizen events, continuous improvement initiatives, and problem-solving activities to improve planning processes, material flow, and production performance.
  • Bring forward constructive ideas and recommendations to improve planning systems, reporting, communication, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Maintain schedules, records, reports, and planning data to support visibility of work order status, backlog, inventory position, and production resource availability.
  • Use advanced Excel skills and data analysis to evaluate production trends, identify issues, support decision-making, and communicate planning performance.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in planning, scheduling, inventory control, production control, or materials management preferred.
