Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement/Lean facilitator to coordinate activities in the Factory Value Stream, ensuring Safety, Quality and Productivity goals through Lean tools.

You will train operators, lead Kaizen events, and work with cross-functional teams to maintain production schedules and quality levels, using SAP and other scheduling systems.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; AA/AS degree a plus.
• 5+ years in production setting preferred.
• Lean principles knowledge and implementation experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on Lean training for operators and teams.
• Facilitate Lean discussions and practical application of concepts.
• Address equipment and tooling issues with the department.
• Update standard work and value stream maps for consistency.
• Coordinate with Sales and Drafting to maintain quality and schedules.

Position Description

This is an indirect hourly position reporting directly to the Continuous improvement Manager and is responsible for coordinating activities in the Factory Value Stream Process to ensure that Safety, Quality and Productivity goals are being met using Lean tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on training sessions, workshops, and seminars to educate all operators in the factory on quality, operations and lean practices and techniques.
• Facilitate discussions and activities that encourage participation and practical application of Lean concepts.
• Address any equipment and tooling issues with appropriate department.
• Update work instruction for the value stream map, establish and update standard work procedures to ensure consistent execution of tasks and processes.
• Work with Sales and Drafting to ensure quality levels and Production schedules are maintained.
• Must have extensive knowledge of product design and specification.
• Must utilize systems (scheduling systems, SAP, etc.) proficiently.
• Very knowledgeable of shop floor control and manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Maintain all required reporting (hour by hour board, dashboard, etc.)
• Maintain safe working environment and good housekeeping practices.
• Drive continuous improvement by leading Kaizen activities.
• Ensure team understands and participates in reaching daily, weekly and monthly objectives.
• Support Process Audits, assist in conducting process audits to ensure adherence to improvement standards and identify areas for retraining.
• Serve as a resource for problem-solving and process improvement initiatives across departments.
• Work closely with department managers and teams to identify training needs and develop tailored solutions to address specific challenges.
• Monitor performance, track operator performance post-training and provide feedback or additional coaching as needed.
• Serve as a resource for problem-solving and process improvement initiatives across departments.

Required Education & Qualifications

• HS diploma and/or GED required. AA/AS degree: a plus or a minimum 5 years in production.
• Team Oriented, leading by example while exemplifying Modine Values.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency with Office tools.
• Through understanding of Lean Principles and experience in implementation.
• Certificate or knowledge’s in Lean or similar methodology is a plus (white or yellow belt level).
• Must be a self-starter with excellent time management skills.
• Strong Organizational skills.
• Must be able to perform ALL functions in the Value Stream.
