Job summary

New York Life Insurance Co. is seeking an Associate, Valuations to join Apogem Capital's remote valuation team. You will analyze a diverse portfolio of private market investments and contribute to valuation governance and process development.

You will work closely with senior professionals to build valuation models, review third-party marks, and scale the valuation framework across portfolios. Strong Excel modeling and experience with investment systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or other quantitative field.
• Experience in valuation, portfolio management/support, or related roles.
• Experience with private market strategies and external valuation providers.
• Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform valuation analyses of private investments across investment strategies.
• Support review/validation of third-party valuation marks and methodologies.
• Assist with quarterly valuation committee materials and analyses.
• Oversee data requests and track items with third-party valuation providers.
• Develop and enhance valuation processes, technology, and reporting.
• Collaborate with investment teams to collect portfolio data and monitor performance.
