KPMG LLP is recruiting an Intern to join the Economic and Valuation Services practice in Atlanta. The role focuses on valuation work, financial modeling, and data analysis to support mergers, acquisitions, and financial reporting.

The internship emphasizes learning, collaboration, and exposure to key valuation methodologies and tools like Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx. Strong academic performance and CPA-eligibility progress are valued.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing Accounting, Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics or equivalent.
• Upon completion, additional academic credits needed before degree/CPA eligibility.
• Preferred GPA 3.0+
• Coursework/minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science or data analytics preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; able to learn AI, Alteryx and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Analyze competitive industry dynamics and financial condition of peer companies; evaluate business plans and adjust financial statements; build financial models including DCF, CAPM, market multiples and replacement cost valuations.
• Participate in due diligence on mergers and acquisitions, goodwill impairment, and restructurings.
• Research and communicate key drivers of companies and industries.
• Analyze data and prepare documentation for financial reporting using Excel, Access, Power BI, Alteryx and similar tools.
• Prepare proposals, executive presentations and valuation reports detailing methodologies and inputs.
• Build capabilities in technologies enabling tax professionals, such as AI, Alteryx and Power BI.
