Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a Validation Engineer to ensure FMEAs and DVPRs are complete and aligned with program risk. You will manage RTS, validate risks, and coordinate with design and test teams to optimize validation resources and schedules.

The role requires strong communication, project management, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced truck development environment. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
  • 5+ years experience in designing heavy trucks or their components.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Project.
  • Ability to learn on the fly and adapt to change.
  • Demonstrated team player with initiative and flexibility.
  • Must be detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking.
  • Proficiency with PACCAR systems, processes, procedures and validation practices.
  • Independent judgment and effective project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross functional teams and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure FMEAs are complete, thorough, and up to date in WRR.
  • Identify program risks from FMEAs.
  • Track and review DVPR in WRR to address risks.
  • Track, review and generate RTS to validate risks mitigated.
  • Ensure validation results from RTS are documented in DVPR in WRR.
  • Manage test priorities with higher priority projects in schedule.
  • Manage test properties and ensure on-time delivery for validation.
  • Demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Collaborate with other Validation Engineers to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Requisition Summary

This position will be responsible for ensuring all major new development program's Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEAs) are complete, thorough, identify all failure risks, and ensure they remain up to date. You will also, ensure that the Design Verification Plan and Report (DVPR) addresses all risks and Requests for Testing Services (RTS) are submitted and tracked to completion in the DVPR. Additionally, this position will manage test priorities meeting program requirements and ensure test properties are built correctly and on-time to meet test schedules.

Hiring level for this position will be dependent upon education and experience. This position will work to identify synergies between program tests and test properties, resulting in a more efficient use of validation resources and reduce validation expense. This position will require a self-motivated person, that can operate with minimal supervision and occasionally require independent evaluation.
