Job summary

The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel, part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, seeks a Valet/Shuttle Driver to create memorable experiences for guests and help with arrivals and departures in downtown Lincoln. You will greet guests, park cars, shuttle to the airport or local attractions, assist with luggage, and join department meetings while maintaining a professional, courteous presence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior hospitality or valet experience preferred.
• Must have a current driver's license and maintain an active license.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 100 lbs.
• Professional, courteous appearance at all times.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and assist with check-ins/outs and requests.
• Park cars and shuttle guests to airport/downtown Lincoln.
• Handle luggage and assist guests with claims as needed.
• Attend all department meetings and hotel trainings.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• Represent the hotel with professionalism and calm demeanor during busy times.

Valet/Shuttle Driver

Create memorable experiences for our guests as a valet/shuttle driver at the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel. We only hire those who are at the top of their game and specialize in the details! What will you be doing?

• Greeting/welcoming all guests, check-ins/outs, effectively resolve challenging guest requests and complaints.
• Park cars and make frequent trips to the airport and/or downtown Lincoln.
• Grasp, lift, carry and or load luggage and packages onto a bell cart to transport items throughout hotel to designated room. Read and match luggage tags, write claim tickets, and detach portion to give to guest.
• Attend all scheduled mandatory Guest Services Department meetings, trainings and hotel meetings.
• Perform all other related duties and special projects as requested and/or assigned.
• Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum – including remaining calm and alert, especially during emergency and/or heavy hotel activity.

What you will bring to the role?

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior hospitality or valet experience preferred. Must have a current Drivers License and ability to maintain an active and valid license for the duration of employment.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills to include the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language sufficiently to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and/ or carry or otherwise move packages and boxes and luggage up to 100 lbs. continuously throughout shift.
• Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner at all times.
