Job description

The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Valet Parking Cashier to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.

Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets, including 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

Classification: Full Time

Shift: Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Rate: The pay rate for this role is $19.56, based on applicable and specialized experience and location.

Union Position: This position is part of the Local 30 Union which requires complete open availability. We are not able to accommodate schedule restrictions, and full-time hours are not guaranteed. Hours and schedule are based on seniority and business needs and may be minimal at times until seniority is established. You must be comfortable with a schedule and hours that may vary from week to week.

What will I be doing?

As a Valet Parking Cashier, you would be responsible for greeting guests and processing all parking transactions and associated fees, delivering outstanding guest service and ensuring financial profitability. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Greeting arriving and departing guests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
  • Processing payments using the point-of-sale system, handling cash, managing a bank, reporting discrepancies, processing credit/debit cards, making change, and processing gift certificates, cards, vouchers, and credits
  • Operating and managing the parking booth area
  • Maintaining accurate records of parking-related charges and fees
  • Managing flow of traffic as needed
  • Responding to guest inquiries and requests promptly and courteously
