Job summary

Peninsula Plastics is seeking a Thermoforming Prototype Technician in Auburn Hills, MI. The role focuses on operating vacuum-forming/thermoforming prototype equipment to produce samples that meet customer specs and internal quality standards.

You will set up equipment, adjust heating, cooling, and timing, troubleshoot issues, and document settings and changes. Occasional work in Pattern Shop and tooling development offers cross-training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience operating vacuum-forming or thermoforming equipment.
• Experience in manufacturing, prototyping, tooling, or similar production environment.
• Ability to read engineering specs, quality standards and CAD drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate vacuum-forming/thermoforming prototype equipment.
• Produce, trim, finish and evaluate prototype parts per specifications.
• Adjust heating, cooling, vacuum, and timing to meet requirements.
• Inspect parts for dimensional and quality standards and address defects.
• Document machine settings, process changes and results throughout prototyping.
• Assist with tooling development and Pattern Shop support as needed.
