Job summary

Pfeiffer Vacuum is seeking a Service Technician to operate onsite at our Austin, Texas service center. The role runs 7am-3pm with compensation ranging from $24 to $27 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

You will service, repair, and refurbish vacuum equipment and systems, using a wide array of hand tools and testing devices both at the service center and customer sites. The position requires AA degree or 1 year related experience, mechanical and electrical aptitude, and ability

Qualifications

• AA degree and/or 1 year of related experience in the service and repair field of electronic or mechanical equipment.
• General mechanical and electrical aptitude required.
• Must be able to follow repair instructions and testing techniques.
• Requirements also include the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, being a self-starter, motivated, creative, flexible, self-confident, deadline-oriented and able to multi-task.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Windows as well as general background working with computers and office equipment (copiers, etc.) and accurately performing data entry.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Basic mathematical skills required including the ability to accurately use scales and measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Will strictly adhere to all Quality and Safety procedures of the Company.
• Will use a wide range of hand and power tools including measuring devices, meters, and scopes.
• Perform documentation such as daily timesheets, service documentation, HR compliance updates, safety training and certification, etc.
• Tasks in the primary clean room are as follows:
• Will take readings of failure codes and warnings to help determine failure mode or mechanism of the pump.
• Disassembling the equipment.
• Confirming customer complaint of returning equipment.
• Decontaminating the equipment (using parts cleaners, degreasers, high pressure wash equipment, ultrasonic cleaners as well as blast media).
• May assist with equipment maintenance, as requested.
