Job Summary

Provide safe, reliable maintenance and production-support service for vacuum chambers and associated assets across the Garden Grove site. Maintain and restore pumps, gauges, compressors, power supplies, heater assemblies, controls, instrumentation, and related mechanical and electrical systems through preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment recovery, inspections, disciplined shift handoff, and documented CMMS closeout.

Shift Time

2nd Shift: 1:45pm - 10:15pm

Job Responsibilities

  • Vacuum Chamber Troubleshooting and Recovery

  • Execute safe first response, troubleshooting, restoration, and escalation for vacuum chambers and associated mechanical, electrical, heating, cooling, pneumatic, and control systems.

  • Read and apply technical manuals, schematics, drawings, diagrams, equipment history, and OEM documentation to diagnose faults and restore equipment.

  • Use approved diagnostic tools and measuring instruments to evaluate vacuum level, leak integrity, electrical condition, temperature, pressure, flow, and equipment performance.

  • Preventive and Corrective Maintenance

  • Perform assigned preventive, predictive, inspection, and corrective work to approved procedures, job plans, specifications, and quality requirements.

  • Execute vacuum-chamber PMs across the site, protect scheduled PM windows, document exceptions, and support recovery plans for missed or incomplete work.

  • Work Control, Documentation, and Materials

  • Use Maintenance Connection as the system of record for assigned work, labor, parts, findings, failure information, follow-up actions, and clear closeout notes.

  • Identify parts and tooling needs, coordinate with Maintenance Stores and Spares, and elevate critical-spares risks; follow approved purchasing and inventory processes rather than independently committing suppliers.

  • Production Coordination and Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate with production and supervisory personnel on equipment status, operating constraints, safe recovery, and return-to-service; provide approved operator guidance on daily use and abnormal-condition escalation.

  • Participate in shift handoffs, tiered daily management, technical training, root-cause investigations, PM improvement, commissioning, and knowledge transfer for new or modified equipment.

  • Safety, Cleanroom, and Chemical Controls

  • Comply with LOTO/LOTOTO, electrical safety, confined-space, respirator, chemical-handling, cleanroom, permit, PPE, machine-guarding, and other applicable site and regulatory requirements; stop and elevate work when controls are unclear or conditions are unsafe.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum two years of experience as an Electrician A or equivalent industrial maintenance experience demonstrating both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capability, subject to applicable classification and labor-agreement requirements.

  • Working proficiency in Maintenance Connection or a comparable CMMS, including reviewing assigned work, documenting labor and parts, recording findings, and completing technically useful closeout notes.

  • Working knowledge of vacuum-system fundamentals and components, plus industrial electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and PLC-based equipment interfaces.

  • Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Function Test.

  • Must be able to work while wearing a respirator and necessary cleanroom garments.

  • Must adhere to strict cleanroom protocol.

  • Ability to work safely around department chemicals using required engineering controls, procedures, PPE, and respiratory protection, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

  • Ability to lift more than 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and on uneven surfaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certificate, apprenticeship, or equivalent formal training in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, controls, vacuum technology, or a related discipline.

  • Experience with ASI vacuum systems or comparable chamber, autoclave, vacuum-pump, and process-control equipment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and digital maintenance documentation.

  • Applied math skills for electrical, vacuum, pressure, temperature, measurement, and troubleshooting calculations.

  • Experience with cleanroom practices, chemical handling, leak detection, vacuum instrumentation, heater controls, or equipment commissioning.
