Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ, seeks a Senior Specialist, Vaccines Technology to support POD vaccine manufacturing at the Wilson, NC site. You will lead startup, tech transfer, validation, licensure, and ongoing technical support as an SME within the IPT.

The role requires hands-on engineering in a cGMP biopharmaceutical environment, cross‑functional collaboration with Operations and QA, and readiness for irregular hours to support multi‑shift operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Engineering or Science, or related fields.
• Minimum 4 years direct pharmaceutical packaging experience.
• 2+ years hands-on engineering/technical support in a cGMP vaccine environment.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and regulatory awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to POD vaccine operations, startup, validation and tech transfer.
• Own MES batch records and implement changes to meet business needs.
• Ensure CPPs are defined for consistent vaccine quality at Wilson site.
• Act as SME during regulatory inspections and audits.
• Drive CAPAs and root-cause investigations for process issues.
• Coordinate with Ops, QA, and IPT to meet project milestones.
