Job summary

Merck is seeking an Engineering Specialist to support live virus vaccine production at the West Point site, focusing on deviation investigations and action development. The role requires coordinating with manufacturing operations, performing root-cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions on process and equipment issues.

The incumbent will contribute to deviation management, work with cross-functional teams, and prepare technical documentation and validation activities as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering or Sciences.
• Minimum 1 year post-bachelor’s GMP manufacturing/technical support experience (or M.S. with <1 year).
• Experience authoring investigations and driving corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing investigations, identify root cause, assess impact and recommend corrective actions.
• Examine issues from safety, compliance, automation, equipment, process, and people perspectives to resolve root cause.
• Ensure consistent application of standardized work, engineering tools, and project management practices.
• Provide technical support to shop floor for problems and issues.
• Design and conduct experiments using lab facilities or full-scale production equipment.
• Draft and update technical and manufacturing documents for investigations, design, change control and validation.
