Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a laboratory-based scientist in the Vaccines Early BioProcess Analytical Development group to perform bioassay sample testing, method development and qualification studies supporting early vaccine development. The role includes ELISA and cell-based assays, data analysis, and documentation in an electronic lab notebook, with collaboration across project teams.

The position is on‑premise in the United States, offering a competitive salary, a target bonus of 7.5% of base salary,

Qualifications

• BA/BS 3–5 yrs or MA/MS in biology with 0–3 yrs experience.
• Prior research experience in an analytical lab.
• Good working knowledge of antibody–antigen interactions and bioassay analytical techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample testing in support of vaccine development, including bioprocess and formulation development, release, stability, characterization, and adjuvant compatibility studies.
• Discuss conclusions with their manager after independent calculations.
• Document experiments and analyze data using an electronic laboratory notebook with guidance.
• Contribute to the authoring of development reports, analytical test methods, and method qualification reports.
• Read scientific and technical literature to stay current and provide daily laboratory operations support.
