Job summary

Elanco in Fort Dodge, Iowa, is seeking a Research Scientist (R1) in Vaccine Technical Development to lead and advance research and development projects with deep technical expertise, delivering on schedule and within budget.

You will design and implement experiments, perform hands-on lab work, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement to enable successful licensure of vaccines while maintaining high quality and collaboration in a dynamic on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline with at least 1 year post‑graduate industry experience or M.S. with 5+ years in vaccine analytic development.
• Hands-on expertise in analytical method development (potency assays, ELISA, viral titration) with cross-functional project leadership.
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to influence technical and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple vaccine analytical development projects within the PD/AD group and cross-functional teams.
• Design, implement, optimize experiments, methods, SOPs for process and assay development.
• Interpret complex data and provide actionable insights to project teams and leadership.
