Job summary

The City of Burlington, Vermont seeks a Program Director to lead their licensed Vacation Camp and potential After School programming for K–5 students. You will shape themes, design daily schedules, train staff, and ensure safety, licensing compliance, and family communication during school breaks and after school hours.

Qualifications

• Possess a BA/BS/Associate's Degree with one of several Vermont credentials or a Master's in a youth-related field.
• College coursework relevant to Education or Recreation Management is required.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to pass background checks are required.
• Experience supervising staff and managing diverse youth programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Vacation Camp sessions and potential After School program with full planning and supervision.
• Implement session themes, daily schedules, craft/gym/activity plans, and field trips.
• Coordinate camper files, transportation, supplies, and staff recognition.
• Supervise Vacation Camp Teachers and support staff; ensure safety and inclusivity.
• Maintain licensing compliance, staff ratios, documentation, drills, and incident reporting.
• Provide strong customer service to families and maintain regular updates.
