Vacancy for Business Development Director at CLOCKSS

About You

CLOCKSS seeks a target-driven, ambitious Business Development Director to engage with librarians and libraries about digital preservation and to promote CLOCKSS as a strategic partner. You will be responsible for building demand, growing our supporter base, and establishing initiatives that secure loyalty within the existing supporter network.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the preservation of human knowledge for future generations. Tenacity, ingenuity, and excellent relationship development skills are essential, along with a strong focus on meeting and exceeding targets.

Role

Part-time initially. We are seeking someone who is self-employed or able to work as a contractor. You can be based anywhere in the world, provided you can work effectively with libraries in the Americas.

Responsibilities
  • Build your own prospect database
  • Create campaigns to inform, inspire, and motivate librarians to collaborate with CLOCKSS
  • Engage with new prospects
  • Enhance existing relationships
  • Reach out to contacts for referrals
  • Participate in face-to-face and virtual conferences and meetings
  • Develop and implement a business development tracking and reporting system
  • Translate library needs into recommendations to improve CLOCKSS services
  • Be a self-starter and collaborate effectively with the entire CLOCKSS team
