Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Housekeeping Aid (EVS) to perform janitorial and custodial duties at VA Medical Center locations in Zebulon or Atlanta, Georgia. The position supports patient care by maintaining clean, safe environments and addressing spills quickly.

Under direct supervision, you will work on a range of duties from cleaning wards and patient rooms to restrooms and offices, with shifts across first, second, and night times including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience or training demonstrating ability to perform housekeeping tasks.
• Qualifications evaluated against standard federal wage guidelines.
• Credit for volunteer or other relevant experience can be counted.

Responsibilities

• Maintain VA facilities as part of EVS housekeeping staff.
• Work alongside other Veterans in the housekeeping team.
• Perform light and heavy cleaning and routine duties.
• Clean wards, patient rooms, offices, corridors, restrooms and showers.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, polish floors; wash walls and windows.
• Refill dispensers, move furniture, and address spills promptly.
• Carry out assignments with minimal supervision.
