DirectShifts is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to conduct VA General Medicine examinations and complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) in accordance with VA guidelines.

The role involves reviewing veterans’ medical histories, performing thorough clinical assessments, and producing precise medical reports while ensuring HIPAA and regulatory compliance. Flexible scheduling options are offered (FT/PT/PRN).

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP or PA license.
• Collaborative agreement with supervising physician where required by state law.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to established clinical protocols.

• Review Veterans' medical history and supporting documentation prior to each evaluation.
• Perform comprehensive physical assessments.
• Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Ensure compliance with VA guidelines, HIPAA, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
